The Foolish Fox (based on the proverb~ "Once bitten, twice shy")

The Foolish Fox

Once upon a time, there lived a lion named Lionus. He was the king of the forest, fierce and always ready to fight. However, he was also a very just and patient ruler. One day, he was strolling through his territory when he bumped into the fox called Slyuss. Slyuss wanted to play a trick on the king and so he started screaming, “Help! Help!” He posed as if he was struggling between the claws of the fierce king. A crowd had already gathered. The king swallowed his anger.

After a few months, Slyuss invited Lionus to his house for a treat. “Hey! Your highness! Come for a treat at my house at noon.” When Lionus reached there, Slyuss was about to play the same trick on him. However, before he could do so, Lionus backfired Slyuss’ plan. He acted as if he were choking. He then started screaming for someone who could treat poisoning. ”Oh please! Someone help! I have been poisoned!”

“Fool me once shame on me; fool me twice shame on you!” He then killed Slyuss in front of the whole crowd. He had held his anger down for a long time but it was a situation of once bitten, twice shy.
